Our Story

Arborea was born from a simple conviction: that the Península de Osa is one of the most extraordinary places on Earth, and that the people who come here deserve to experience it as it truly is — wild, generous, unhurried, and alive.

We thought of everything.
So you can have real relaxation.

Not through a resort window. Not from a tour bus. But from inside a casa in the jungle, with a private chef cooking at the table, a guide who grew up on these trails, and the Pacific stretching out beyond the canopy until it disappears into the horizon.

Luxury and nature are not opposites. They never were.

The word arbor means tree in Latin. It is a name chosen with intention — because everything Arborea does is rooted in the natural world that surrounds it. The forest is not a backdrop here. It is the reason.

Luxury, in our understanding, is not about opulence for its own sake. It is about intention. It is a meal cooked from ingredients harvested that morning. It is a guide who knows where the waterfall is that doesn't appear on any map. It is arriving at your casa to find everything already arranged, and realizing that the only thing left to do is be present.

"The Osa doesn't need to be improved. It needs to be shared — carefully, intentionally, and with deep respect for what makes it irreplaceable"

Why the Osa

The last wild coast

Ojochal · Uvita · Península de Osa · Costa Rica

Biologically Intense

The Península de Osa sits at the southwestern tip of Costa Rica, where the jungle descends directly into the Pacific. It is home to Corcovado National Park — described by National Geographic as the most biologically intense place on Earth — and to a way of life that has remained, against all odds, genuinely unhurried.

Ocean Nature

This is where scarlet macaws fly in pairs over the treetops. Where humpback whales breach offshore in numbers that still surprise marine biologists. Where the air smells of rain and earth and something that has no name in English but that every person who has been here recognizes immediately.

Pacific Coastline

The Arborea collective sits on a pristine private mountain above the Costa Ballena, with views that take in both the jungle interior and the Pacific coastline simultaneously. Getting here takes intention. Leaving is always harder than expected.

We are stewards, not owners.

Arborea does not own the casas in its collective. We manage them — which means our relationship with each property is one of genuine responsibility rather than passive oversight. We care for these homes as if they were our own, and we care for the guests who stay in them as if they were family.

How we work01

This model allows us to do something that ownership often makes difficult: to be completely focused on the experience. Not on asset management. Not on occupancy rates. On the quality of what happens inside each casa, and the impression it leaves on every person who passes through.

Excellence before everything02

Every residence in the collective is maintained to the same exacting standard — clean, thoughtfully stocked, and ready to receive guests who deserve to arrive and simply exhale.

We ensure your relaxation03

From the first inquiry to the last farewell, our team is present, responsive, and genuinely invested in making your stay what it should be. We are available. We are attentive. We are here.

Respect for the ecosystem04

This land is not ours to consume. We operate with deep respect for the ecosystem that makes the Arborea experience possible — supporting local suppliers, minimizing impact, and working to ensure that the wildness that draws guests here is preserved for the generations coming after them.
